The festive programme at Piece Hall features gigs, vintage fair rides and Christmas markets

Christmas markets will be returning to the historic Piece Hall this year and they are less than 90 minutes away from Liverpool.

The building dates back to 1779 and is described as one of Britain’s most outstanding Georgian buildings. Every year, it hosts a packed winter programme with more than 50 gigs, shows, workshops and events to celebrate the festive season. The area is decorated for Christmas, with the star attraction being the Christmas markets and the 45ft Sitka spruce tree. For the first time ever there will also be a vintage big wheel in the courtyard, complementing the much-loved Victorian carousel which is now a regular feature of the season.

"Come to our markets, come to a show, come to Christmas shop or just to soak up the atmosphere; come to a workshop to make decorations or a wreath, but most important of all, come to spend some time and make beautiful memories with the ones you love in the most perfect setting."
