An aide to Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, Daniel Bwala, has warned that the exchange rate might rise to N2000 against the United States, US, dollar by Christmas. Bwala said Nigeria's economy was sinking because President Bola Tinubu's administration has failed to take the right steps.

He made the remark while mocking the Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, and the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Governor, Yemi Cardoso, over the state of Nigeria's economy. Posting on X, Bwala also criticized Tinubu for allegedly constituting the largest cabinet in the world. He pointed out that only the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, is performing among Tinubu's cabinet.

Bwala wrote: 'The way the economy is sinking, if serious care is not taken, by Christmas the dollar would sell for N2000. Everything rises and falls on the naira value. 'Where are the Wale Edun and Yemi Cardoso of this world that they told us one will walk on water and the other would turn water into wine.
