The site closed earlier this year

A former McDonald's restaurant in Nottingham city centre has gone on the market as shoppers outline what they would like to see based there. The site's last day of operation was on June 30, with the premises having been boarded up ever since.

A sign on the former restaurant now confirms that it is being marketed to let by Savills. Some of those shopping in Nottingham on Friday gave their thoughts on what they would like to see at the site, with some claiming that there were already "enough" restaurants.Jo Whitehead, 43, who lives in the city centre and works as a civil servant, said: "A pharmacy would be great in the city centre. I would also like something like B&M for household products.

Nicki's daughter, 16-year-old Sienna Bufton, who works as a volunteer at the White Rose, added: "I would like more vintage shops like White Rose. It's sustainable." Sonja Wright, 60, from Alfreton, who comes into Nottingham every Friday, said: "I would like a new restaurant, there are enough shops already. Something I really want is a Christian bookshop with a café. There used to be one but it closed."
