The former business owner pleaded guilty to 11 offences at Wellingborough Magistrates Court after council officers removed 182 items of unsafe foods from a shop in Kettering

A former business owner has pleaded guilty to 11 offences and been banned from operating a food business in future following an inspection by North Northamptonshire Council. Mr Kadim Majeedi, of Northborough Avenue, Stafford, appeared at Wellingborough Magistrates' Court on October 24.

The premises were put on a six-month interval for further inspection following poor standards found. In August 2022, another visit was carried out and many unlabelled items were noted.Staff could not answer basic questions about the safety of the food and removed several bin liners of food from the shop floor behind where officers were standing.

Due to the number of visits and amount of items removed from sale, Mr Majeedi was interviewed under caution and the decision made to prosecute for these offences. An application made to the Magistrates Court to prohibit Mr Majeedi from owning or managing a food business.
