Derek Marshall, a renowned city chef, has decided to sell his seafood restaurant Gamba after 25 years. The restaurant, located on George Street, is described as a long-established and reputable business. Marshall's culinary journey took him to various locations, including the Channel Islands, the French Alps, and Spain.

Derek Marshall, who opened the seafood eatery Gamba on George Street in 1998, has put the venue up for sale.

From the city's East End, Derek left school with no qualifications and joined a youth training programme which then took him on a culinary journey to the Channel Islands, the French Alps and Spain. His time working in kitchens overseas led Derek back to Glasgow and he worked as a head chef at Rogano and Papingo in the early 1990s."I just think you put out your stall in a restaurant and it either works or it doesn’t work."This isn’t the cheapest place to eat, but it’s not the most expensive. You won’t leave hungry."The agents describe the restaurant as a 'long-established and extremely reputable business' as well as a city 'institution'.

With a prominent city centre location on George Street, Gamba can seat 60 covers and also has a separate bar area.Readers’ comments: You are personally liable for the content of any comments you upload to this website, so please act responsibly.
