Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will hold a lunch with CEOs and think-tank chiefs as part of his visit to Australia.

Already a subscriber?Business leaders attending a meeting with China’s foreign minister on Wednesday will stress the need for predictability from Beijing to prevent national security concerns from again overshadowing Australia’s economic relationship with China.

“I look forward to a frank exchange of views on our shared interests, points of difference, and our respective roles in upholding a region that is peaceful, stable and secure,” Senator Wong said. In between the official meetings, Mr Wang and the Australia China Business Council will hold a closed-door lunch.

“The visit provides an important opportunity to hear from one of China’s most senior government leaders on how China views its relationship with Australia beyond stabilisation,” Mr Olsson said.
