A manhunt for two unknown male suspects in relation to a business robbery incident committed at a supermarket in Bela-Bela, Waterberg District on Wednesday 22 May 2024 at about 18:10, has been intensified by the local police.

Police reports indicates that a shop keeper was alone at the supermarket waiting for customers when two male suspects entered wearing surgical masks and hats. One suspect was in possession of a firearm that was pointed at the victim and he demanded money in the process.

It is reported that the suspects fired multiple shots inside the supermarket before fleeing the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of money, cigarettes and airtime. No one sustained injuries when the multiple shots were fired during the robbery. Afterwards, police were alerted and they reacted swiftly to attend to the complaint. Upon arrival, at the scene police commenced with the investigations and subsequently discovered that the firearm utilized during the business robbery was actually a toy gun.
