Red Mill Burgers News

Crimes,Change,Seattle

A Seattle business owner who just suffered the latest in what has been a string of costly break-ins is calling on city leaders to change the way police patrol.

Red Mill Burgers in Phinney Ridge suffered another break-in on Thursday morning and the owner says it's time for a new strategy by Seattle police.

John Shepherd, who owns Red Mill Burgers along with his brother Michael, said his restaurant has been burglarized nine times in the past three years, most recently on Thursday. Shepherd 's hope is that police will change up how they protect the city and start running random emphasis patrols in his neighborhood and others during the overnight hours. Having the mayor and other city leaders publicly announce the change could help this kind of high-visibility deterrence have an impact, he said.
