The U.S. President tweeted complaints saying he would ‘monitor the censorship of American citizens’

President Donald Trump criticized social media companies after Facebook banned a number of extremist figures, declaring that he was “monitoring and watching, closely!!”

The president’s comments came after Facebook this week banned Louis Farrakhan, Alex Jones and other extremists, saying they violated its ban on “dangerous individuals.” The company also removed right-wing personalities Paul Nehlen, Milo Yiannopoulos, Paul Joseph Watson and Laura Loomer, along with Jones’ site, Infowars, which often posts conspiracy theories. The latest bans apply both to Facebook’s main service and to Instagram and extend to fan pages and other related accounts.

Woods, one of Hollywood’s most outspoken conservatives, has had his Twitter account locked. Twitter spokeswoman Katie Rosborough said Woods will need to delete a tweet that violated Twitter rules before he can be reinstated. Rosborough said Twitter enforces its rules “impartially for all users, regardless of their background or political affiliation.”

IF YOU WERE A RACIST, WHAT WOULD YOU DO

Why not they ban aoc etc? Double standards, true propaganda.

You have few companies that literally control media flow and they make decisions on what can or cannot be said. I grew up in a totalitarian system and this is no different from it. Censorship

Now reporting the news and saying things the way they are 'is called extremism'.

This is the same President who bans members of the press from his press conferences if they ask the 'wrong' question or refuses to take their questions altogether. Such a hypocrit man-child.

James Woods is not an extremist. Faulty headline.

LOL at the so called “journalists” cheering on the death of free speech. They’re just desperate that they’re losing power and the people are now able to call them out on their blatant lies

Good. They’re lying about who are extremists

How the media are delighted in seeing right-wing advocates being banned from FB. As a sacrificial lamb Louis Farrakhan from the left was given up, group like Hamas, Isis still spew there hate on FB. Media can't be trusted as they need to be policed some how also these days.

Paul Joseph Watson is only an extremist at calling out bullshit. Truth-to-power is apparently not tolerated by Facebook.

Next up, anyone who doesn't parrot the belief that climate armageddon is a decade away.

Sad to see 'journalists' and the now discredited supporting partisan attacks on free speech.

How the hell is Paul Joseph Watson an extremist? Pretty sad that even the Globe has sunk to this level.

Woods and Watson are not extremists. But then again I guess the Globe considers any dissenting views as extremism.

That seems to be his base.

Maybe they should ban realDonaldTrump too.

He is ghetto RW

James woods is hardly an extremist.
