SUZHOU, CHINA — PANHUA Group Co. Ltd., one of China’s largest steel sheet producers, said it is pushing through with the construction of the US$3.5 billion manufacturing plant in Saranggani province in the Southern Philippines which is expected to generate at least 25,000 jobs for Filipinos.
The plant is expected to generate 10 million tons of products such as steel slab and galvanized steel annually for local and overseas markets. Li stressed that once the whole project is completed, the company will hire 20,000 more Filipinos and offer a training program in China for college students in the province so they would be able to work in the plant.
The tycoon also bared the company’s plan to invest in the food industry and start a noodle restaurant chains that provide consumers with automated sales service.
