Leapmotor is leaping into the throng of Chinese brands vying for Australian buyers’ dollars, and has released key details of its debut model. The Leapmotor C10 is a mid-sized electric SUV due in Australia in November. Pricing has yet to be announced. It’s one of a glut of Chinese mid-sized electric SUVs coming to our market, with the BYD Sealion 7, Geely EX5, Xpeng G6 and Zeekr 7X among the others that will take on the dominant Tesla Model Y.
It released a product roadmap earlier this year showing it plans a small SUV for 2025, a small hatchback for 2026, and a light hatchback and SUV for 2027. Drivetrains The C10 features a single, rear-mounted electric motor with 160kW of power. It’s rear-wheel drive. Efficiency The C10 features a 69.9kWh lithium iron phosphate battery and offers a claimed WLTP range of 420km. Leapmotor claims it takes approximately 30 minutes to charge from 30 to 80 per cent using DC power.
