You could break us up, you could break other tech companies up, but you actually don't address the underlying issues people are concerned about. People are concerned about election security, content, privacy and data portability,' Sheryl Sandberg said.

on Friday calling for regulation of American tech companies but pushing against the idea of breaking up the social media company.

Shares of Facebook were trading lower early in the session as markets continued to focus on trade tensions between the U.S. and China."While people are concerned with the size and power of tech companies, there's also a concern in the United States with the size and power of Chinese companies, and the realization that those companies are not going to be broken up," Sandberg said.

"We know at Facebook we have a real possibility to do better and earn back people's trust," she said.

Grace4Privacy Nobody cares about data portability unless we’re talking about medical records. This is a red herring so that when Facebook misbehaves, they can say, “fine, you can just take your data and go play with somebody else.” Portability is meaningless unless there are other players.

He does not have the right to dictate how other people run their companies. He does not have the right to dictate how other people do anything.

Booker expresses caution about breaking up big companies like FacebookThe senator from New Jersey insisted his comments were not meant as criticism of Democratic rival Elizabeth Warren, who has called for stricter regulations to help unravel some tech giants. Everyone expresses caution about Booker. Should just get rid of the total shit show that is FB. Why people still subject themselves to it is beyond me. It’s like purposely hanging out in an outhouse at a week long outdoor festival. If he were alive then, he would probably have wept about the breakup of Ma Bell.
