Sadtu has called for unity following the announcement of new leadership team.

Newly elected SADTU General Secretary Mugwena Maluleke is reading the declaration of the 10th National Congress here at Birchwood Hotel, Boksburg.Newly elected South African Democratic Teachers Union General Secretary, Mugwena Maluleke says the need to implement the outstanding clauses inMagope Maphila has been re-elected President for another five years, Mabutho Cele as Deputy President and Nkosana Dolopi as Deputy General Secretary.

The gathering, which brought together thousands of delegates, concluded on Saturday following four days of discussions. Maluleke says, “The congress has indicated that clause four and five must be implemented as a matter of urgency and therefore they will proceed to implement that and not wait for the three months, because we believe that the three months is a result of others not wanting to really transform and not wanting to accept us as one nation, but want to continue to protect their privileges.
