Lamola hosted the UN Deputy Secretary General, Amina Mohammed in Pretoria

International Relations and Co-operation Minister Ronald Lamola says the recognition of Palestine as a state will pave a way to resolve the current conflict in the Middle East.

Lamola hosted the UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed in Pretoria and says organisation such as the United Nations must be at the forefront to stop the conflict. “Exactly a year after the horrific acts that took place in Israel, we reiterate our call for condemnation of the incident and continue with the call for the release of all hostages who are still held in captivity. We reiterate that only the solution to this region conflict is a permanent ceasefire which leads to the recognition of Palestine with Jerusalem as its capital,” adds Lamola.
