: Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak told the High Court, here, today, that the board of directors of SRC International Sdn Bhd is free to resign if they disagree with the company’s decisions, or feel that government directives are influencing its direction.

“As prime minister , I would not do anything against the interest of the company, as I have sworn under the Constitution to protect the company,” said Najib while answering a question under cross-examination by counsel Datuk Dr Gurdial Singh Nijar who is representing third-party respondent and former SRC director Datuk Suboh Md Yassin.

He acknowledged that it was reasonable for the BOD to follow his guidance, but emphasised that their implementation must comply with legal standards and prioritise the company’s best interests.
