An elaborate chapel on the main level of St. Vincent's Hospital features a giant crucifix hanging in a cross-shaped marble opening. The chapel is filled with stained-glass windows depicting the Beatitudes. Friday Nov. 1 marks the official date of the acquisition -- pending final approval, according to a special University of Alabama System board of trustees meeting Monday.
