Quality Front-Rowers News

Sharks Prop Oregon,Storm Prop Tui,Xavier Willison

Rugby League: Players have been separated after an explosive Samoan Siva Tau before their international clash against England.

From Broncos young gun Xavier Willison to Knights enforcer Leo Thompson the 2025 off-contract class is littered with quality front-rowers hitting the open market on November 1.

On a reported $350,000 in 2025, Thompson could attract at least double that on the open market, given the need for quality front-rowers. The Courier Mail reported several teams are eying Willison, who is looking for a big pay rise and the Broncos may not have the funds to keep him due to salary cap issues.

Willison might not be the finished article yet, but he has the size, speed and footwork to become as damaging as his Broncos teammate Payne Haas in the future.Oregon Kaufusi has established himself as a rock for the Sharks over the last two season since switching form the Eels in 2023 on a three-year deal.

Tui Kamikamica has established himself as a vital part of the Storm’s front row rotation in recent seasons. The Storm will be hoping to keep him, but there will be a number of clubs eyeing the hulking Fijian if Melbourne can’t lock him down with an extension and he is not the only Melbourne forward off-contract in 2025.It is pretty hard to shine when your prop partner is arguably the best front-rower in the game in Payne Haas, but Corey Jensen is a reliable rock for the Broncos pack.

Jensen might not be a highlight machine, but he is the consistent performer up front that every pack needs and there would be no shortage of clubs looking for a front-rower of his calibre come November 1. The Storm will be desperate to keep King, but with Tui Kamikamica and Lazarus Vaalepu also off-contract, Melbourne may struggle to keep them all.

Meanwhile, new signing Reagan Campbell-Gillard has also added to the club’s impressive front row stocks, which may force Pahulu out. The Cook Ilands international has the opportunity to be a long-term pillar of the Souths’ front row with Tatola. So intricate to the Sharks side has Hazelton become that he started 10 of his 25 games last year to become one of their key forwards.
