WASHINGTON - U.S. presidential candidate Bernie Sanders will give a speech on Wednesday defending his democratic socialist agenda as the “unfinished business” of former President Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal and a vital step toward guaranteed economic rights.

Roosevelt’s policies, which included public works jobs, strong banking and financial regulations and the Social Security retirement program, made huge progress in protecting the needs of working families, Sanders said. “We must take the next step forward and guarantee every man, woman and child in our country basic economic rights,” he said, including quality healthcare, education, a decent job, affordable housing, a secure retirement and a clean environment.Sanders is one of more than 20 candidates seeking the Democratic presidential nomination for the right to challenge Trump in 2020. He consistently places second in opinion polls on the Democratic race.

If he likes socialism so much why he never went to Venezuela or Cuba?

I will not rest, Comrads, while one Kulak survives.

wretchardthecat LoL

wretchardthecat True, as far as it goes. A good thing, not so much.

Bernie is thru.he is anachronism

The coot BernieSanders needs to give up and go home.

'Unfinished business' Why are you bending over for Biden this time? And why would a person running for President not protest against Killary Klinton's Klan when she subverted Democracy in 2016? BERNIE IS NO AMERICAN LEADER HE IS A SOCIALIST 🤜🤪

Go Bernie. 40% of US want a social democracy over a capitalist one. Possibly this figure is really above 50% if the others were awakened to the facts, and not brainwashed by USA’s past history of paranoia. There is hope for the common person yet!!

DBChirpy Sanders is stuck on socialism from his Ussr days. He’s a loon. SenateDems HouseDemocrats DNC

Thanks for founding that party with the millions of supporters and tons of goodwill you gained during the last campaign, Bernie. What's it called again? Democrat?

Whilst I completely disagree with Bernie on many issues at least he is consistent with his message and you know where he stands. Joe Biden, however changes his positions based on what’s trendy at the time

Bernie needs to go away. NeverBernie

This guy is still around? I though groping joe finished him off.

It makes sense...Socialism will always be 'unfinished business', because there will be a shortage of everything before it gets done.

Dear SenSanders: Here's a line to get into a supermarket to buy basic food staples under democratic socialism in Venezuela. Teachers frequently skip work to wait in these lines, leaving children untaught. Teachers also engage in sex work to make money to buy food. FeelTheBern

All Bernie does is embarrass liberals and good progressive causes. Thank goodness his numbers are tanking.

Bernie needs to move to Venezuela

He should retire.
