Global shares were mostly lower Monday as investors watched for developments in the trade conflict between the U.S. and China, with talks set to continue this week.

France's CAC 40 fell 0.3% in early trading to 5,593.75, while Germany's DAX lost nearly 0.2% to 12,397.48. Britain's FTSE 100 added nearly 0.6% to 7,591.17.
