Visa climbed 3 spots from last year to take the No. 1 ranking on this year's list of best-regarded companies from Walt Disney, which fell to No. 7

Trustworthiness and company performance go hand in hand for credit card providers, so it’s no surprise that Visa earned the top spot in our third annual list of thein the same year its stock price has soared more than 30% to record highs. The San Francisco-based company climbed three spots from last year to take the No. 1 ranking from Walt Disney, which fell to No. 7 this year.

Italian carmaker Ferrari inched up to No. 2 on the list, becoming the first company to earn a top-three position twice, and Indian IT conglomerate Infosys rose from No. 31 in 2018 all the way to No. 3. Infosys’ leading position headlined an Asian invasion in the rankings. Although 59 of the 250 companies listed are based in the United States, still the most by a wide margin, the next three most-represented countries are Japan, China and India. Those nations combine to house 82 companies on the list, up from 63 last year. In all, nearly half of the 250 best-regarded companies are based in Asia, making it the most dominant continent.

The 250 companies selected touch every major industry. Car manufacturers maintained a prominent presence with 20 representatives on the list, led by Ferrari and Toyota in the top 10. Other credit card companies behind Visa moved up as well—Mastercard is No. 9, and American Express and Discover snuck onto the list at No. 243 and No. 246 for their first-ever appearances.
