and NYU Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music partnership educational program, Music Industry Essentials, is now available to students.

Titled 'Creativity in Content and Artistry,' the module hones in on knowing how to develop your persona and tell your story through song, making use of personality quizzes to aid in the learning process. Additionally, there's a strong focus on learning how to build an audience as an artist, taking an in-depth look at the behind-the-scenes planning of a successful tour: budgeting, costume designs, stage sketches, putting together a backstage crew and more.

Taught by NYU professor JD Samson, 'Creativity in Content and Artistry' follows previous modules 'History of the Recording Industry' and 'Money Matters in Music,' and serves as an introductory point to the fourth module, 'Building Your Image - Who Are You?' After learning lessons about a philosophical approach to creating music, finding your intention as a performer and more, students will be prepared to continue forward with the rest of the course.

Music Industry Essentials is a six-course, 20-hour plus certificate program that showcases all aspects of careers in the industry and gives participants the foundation to carve out their own successful path in today's music world. Throughout the modules, experts in the industry such as Kerry Gordy, Stevie Mackey, Ryan Leslie and Kareem "Biggs" Burke -- as well as editors at and professors at NYU -- provide students with key insights, offering stories from personal experiences.
