Their whole argument that the racing employees thousands of people is pretty weak considering the same was said about the car industry. We've managed to survive without that too.

Im sure abc can probably estimate how many of the horses that ran today would have ended up dead based on their research. Will be an interesting stat.

Fake news . Was at the races and the mood was focused on the great racing around the country enjoyed by 100s of 1000s , oh , and how the abc should no longer be publicly funded .

What was the turnover on win and place bets?

Future assured AfterTheRace

A pretty embarrassing industry and most definitely not a sport. The only thing that holds it together is gambling and alcohol

Can we start a petition to shut down the ABC..? How this organisation can be tax payer funded is beyond me..

Who cares?

How many of the horses in that race today will retire and how many will be slaughtered?

But the explanation was really very simple. The van had previously been the property of the knacker, and had been bought by the veterinary surgeon, who had not yet painted the old name out. That was how the mistake had arisen.

An industry that only exists because of gambling, awash with money and ‘glamour’ and faux celebrity and hero making that doesn’t want to see the cruelty it entails. Yes, you should be ashamed Bruce. But will you use your media influence to really affect change? Doubt it.

Pity it wasn't No No No. It would have sent out a far better message.
