or his fraud, corruption and money laundering charges relating to the failed asbestos project in the Free State. Today the judgment on the Magashule and co-accused civil matter over the legality of charges against him has been reserved by the High Court in Bloemfontein. Magashule says he’s surprised that suddenly the charges have been dropped to the four, saying this shows that his arrest wasn’t legal, except for political motivated reasons. He spoke to the media as he left court earlier this afternoon.
“They then explain you are charged under the following, blah blah…it was not supposed to happen that way, that’s what the law says it’s not me. And that’s what everyone understands and the state doesn’t argue against this because it’s a well-known fact what is right and our criminal law and what it entails in the constitution and one of the things is our bill of rights. We have rights, you can’t just trample and you charge us later, by the way,” says Magashule.
