Shadow Home Affairs Minister Karen Andrews says Japan pulling out of coal investment in Queensland would be an “awful outcome” for the state.

Japan’s Ambassador to Australia Shingo Yamagami criticised the Queensland government’s new tax regime for coal miners – which proposed new higher coal mining royalties.

Mr Yamagami said key Japanese companies invested in the state’s coal industry have questioned whether Queensland will remain a “safe” place to invest.“And the fact that the Japanese Ambassador was prepared to make such strong statements indicates the depth of their feeling.”

Two-faced Liberals! Most of the damage to coal mine startup in QLD happened under Newman's LNP term! The LiberalAus are unelectable because they stand for NOTHING! Time for them to enshrine a party constitution that lays out their fundamental principles. Auspol

Sorry, this failed minister should not be allowed to give an opinion after nearly a decade of rorts and disasters.
