Digital Business Ireland, an industry representative body, has called on the government to ensure there is clarity to support open-source development in the EU’s upcoming AI Act.
It said this is necessary in order to encourage investment in the development of artificial intelligence technologies. Concerns have previously been raised about the complexity of the act, which has been described as being like “GDPR on steroids” in terms of the obligations and consequences involved.
