Silon and National Academy of Medicine president Dr. Victor J. Dzau discussed how healthcare will and should change during the Forbes Sustainability Leaders Summit.

The healthcare industry simultaneously understands that a warming planet is detrimental to human health, and that it is responsible for contributing harmful emissions.For Joris Silon, this paradox adds urgency to the sustainability transformation that is well underway at AstraZeneca.

It has also led the company to adopt the mindset that “we need to make sure we clean our house first,” Silon said at theSilon was joined on stage by National Academy of Medicine president Dr. Victor J. Dzau for a discussion about why healthcare leaders must collaborate on climate change to make the most progress. During their 20-minute conversation, Silon and Dzau addressed their industry's interconnectedness and shared how it will and should change.
