EU to sign contract with German pharmaceutical company for fifth potential Covid-19 vaccine

Image: Shutterstock/PongMoji Image: Shutterstock/PongMoji THE EUROPEAN UNION is set to sign a contract with German pharmaceutical company CureVac for another potential Covid-19 vaccine.

“The coronavirus continues to spread rapidly across Europe. We need a safe and effective vaccine to end this pandemic”, von der Leyen said. Von der Leyen did not disclose the financial terms, in line with the same confidentiality given the other companies making candidate vaccines. “This is why we need to have a broad portfolio of vaccines based on very different technologies,” von der Leyen said.
