‘ newly formed publishing venture Connection Music Publishing started the year off with a bang but has since been relatively quiet. ‘Till Tuesday , when it was announced that it will partner with Warner Chappell Music as it looks to leverage the major’s resources with Connection’s “independent sensibilities through strategic administration agreements with rising talent and global stars.”
Glass, founder and CEO of Glassnote Records, home of Phoenix, Chvrches and other influential acts, remarked that the pact means his personal and professional relationships with WCM CEOhave now come “full circle,” adding that he’s “proud to be working with their stellar team to help our songwriters grow.”
The first songwriter signed to CMP under the new partnership is Welsh folk/pop artist Edie Bens, whose self-released single “Cashmere Sweaters” emerged in 2020. A debut album is due in 2022. In a joint statement, Moot and and Marshall said Glassnote’s “strong legacy” is “sure to continue with Glass’ latest venture.”
