IPOH: The Ipoh City Council (MBI) plans to take legal action against a company due to bad road conditions here, says Datuk Rumaizi Baharin.

“In the letter, we asked it to fix some of the roads where the company had conducted its projects. Among the roads involved are Jalan Raja Ashman Shah and Jalan Tambun.

“The notice was sent in late May and it has about 28 days to respond before legal action is taken,” he told reporters after attending the Tenaga Nasional Bhd zakat education distribution at MBI headquarters here today .“If there is no response from the company, we will proceed with the legal action. MBI will also take the initiative to repair the roads,” he added.

On Jan 18, Rumaizi said the company was conducting a sewerage upgrading project on Jalan Raja Ashman Shah, which is located in front of Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun.Separately, Rumaizi said a total of 60 MBI personnel received RM60,000 zakat education assistance from TNB. “The assistance is given to our personnel who have children in schools and higher education institutions. This is also the first time we had such a collaboration with TNB.“We hope that the money can be used to purchase school and university supplies for the children,” he said.
