The family of John Barnett, former Boeing quality manager turned whistleblower, have spoken out employee turned whistleblower found dead in March has claimed he was ground down by his long battle with the aircraft giant.in Charleston, South Carolina on Saturday 9 March with what was described in an initial coroner’s report as “self-inflicted” gunshot wound.
Police are still investigating the death of Mr Barnett, who was about to begin the third day of his deposition to lawyers. “He thought of himself as trying to do the right thing,” said Mr Barnett. “And that’s what bothered him, that nobody would listen as to what was going on there.” In the film, John Barnett said Boeing did not listen to employees but “would attack the messenger and… ignore the message.”
