Dwayne Johnson and Dany Garcia's Seven Bucks Productions company signs a first-look deal with Disney for theatrical and streaming movies.

Additionally, the studio is involved with Jake Kasdan’s Red One, a Christmas movie starring Johnson and Chris Evans that will be released this coming November, and Benny Safdie’s The Smashing Machine, a new A24 film releasing this December that will see Johnson play Mark Kerr. In addition to Jungle Cruise, Seven Bucks Productions worked with Disney on Behind the Attraction, a documentary series that premiered in 2021 that analyzes the history of Disney attractions.

Johnson has also starred in Disney movies such as 2007’s The Game Plan and 2009’s Race to Witch Mountain. He voiced Maui in 2016’s Moana and will soon reprise the role in Moana 2, which releases this November. Additionally, he’ll play a live-action version of the character in the forthcoming remake directed by Thomas Kail that is currently scheduled to be released in July 2016.
