Huawei's strategy of going after local developers should help it bring unique, market-specific offerings to consumers, thus better enabling the company to overcome the loss of Google's popular services.

However, given the importance of this app ecosystem for Huawei's future growth, the company should be even more active in attracting developers to its platform.
