Newspaper headlines: 'Prepare to stay home' and stock market 'meltdown'

Many of the papers lead on the warning for Britons that anyone with a cold will soon be asked to stay at home for a week to help slow the spread of coronavirus. The Daily Mail reports that the advice will be issued by health officials within a fortnight as the number of cases rising quickly.It's the same lead for the Daily Telegraph, which says pensioners will also be advised to limit social contact - but health officials stressed that the country had not reached that point yet.

It says almost £125bn was wiped off the value of the FTSE 100 in the fifth-worst day in the history of the index of leading UK company shares.The Times claims hundreds of billions of pounds of wealth vanished in a few hours on Monday as the odds on a global recession"dramatically shortened".An oil price war between Saudi Arabia and Russia saw global markets fall at the fastest pace in three decades, according to the Financial Times.

Can you imagine Britain’s astronomical amount of alcoholics and druggies missing their fix and staying home with a runny nose?. Get real! 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Being self employed..this is an issue. However, I explain to all my clients that my support will continue on the basis that there is no interraction betwen us. i.e we keep a distance ... a)that protects them and b) it protects me and any other customers that I see subsequently

Stock markets are dickheads. This virus is nothing it's no worse than the flu. Blown out of proportion just to make money. Ridiculous.

It is the Daily Doom & Gloom though!

Hmm... stock market meltdown? Banker crisis 2008 = Labour Govt to blame. Ergo, Coronavirus crisis 2020 = Tory Govt to blame. Logical an reasonable assessment imho!
