PETALING JAYA: A total of 1,400 people in the Jalan Othman Market area, which is under enhanced movement control order (MCO), have been screened for Covid-19 so far, says Asst Comm Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal.

"The Welfare Department has also planned a schedule to distribute food and essential items to the affected people.

All donations from MPs and state representatives in the Petaling Jaya area would also be managed by the department, he added.On another matter, ACP Nik Ezanee said a 31-year-old Bangladeshi man was detained after he tried to escape from the enhanced MCO area at about 6.05am on Tuesday . He urged those with questions on the Jalan Othman Market enhanced MCO area to call the 24-hour hotline at 013-2666165.
