Uber's CEO told employees that he hopes — but doesn't promise — the company is done with layoffs in the future

. Those bring the company's total job cuts to 6,700 this month — roughly a quarter of its global workforce.Monday, Khosrowshahi implied that Uber has made it past the worst of its job cuts, but stopped short of promising that there won't be cuts in the future.

He framed the layoffs as a necessary step to achieving future stability, adding that "hope is not a strategy."

Its best to cut deep, and cut just once. Staggering it out just causes morale issues which leads to a death spiral the company can't cheaply get out of.

It’s unchartered territory, but it’s the future of fast food. Eventually, the restaurants and third-party apps will find the right balance. Third-party apps must work with small businesses though. Otherwise, you will see major consolidation in the space.
