WASHINGTON - President Donald Trump is"displeased" with China's proposed crackdown in Hong Kong and has doubts over the territory's future as a global financial center if it goes ahead, the White House said on Tuesday .
It's"hard to see how Hong Kong can remain a financial hub if China takes over," press secretary Kayleigh McEnany told a briefing, saying the warning came directly from Trump. Beijing wants to enact legislation banning secession, subversion, terrorism and foreign interference in Hong Kong after months of massive, often violent pro-democracy protests last year.
Activists in Hong Kong warn the clampdown would effectively mean an end to the former British colony's special status, where elections, a free press and other liberties help make it an international finance capital rivalling New York and London.
China's big enough to have several financial hubs. Once again, USA attempting to destabilise other countries. The Middle East wasn't for you?
don't let communist take over hong kong freemarket
Singaporeans should look to ASEAN and Aseans must learn to care for each other with personal and civil hygiene too besides having better manners like the Japanese!
However, the real Mainland Chinese are low class with monies though, and has no polished manners like the Japanese, also very dirty, need to learn physical and civil hygiene. They should teach that in schools!
Nothing to do with USA unless USA wants to destroy China through HKG, also must have financial interest there! Fact! Hongkong always belongs to China, China's fishing village! China was robbed by the British, China was cut into pieces during her weakest time! China is harmless!
The end of Hongkong, but it’s a new beginning of a revolution. Something is going to be wrote in history. FightForFreedom
