Coronavirus: No return to 'business as usual' for dentists

One practice told the BBC it has been asked to donate its previous stock of PPE and was struggling to find new supplies in time for Monday.

"Apart from actually finding the equipment, there are other problems. Costs of this equipment have gone up from £5 to £50 for boxes of simple masks," she says.Sophia Joseph says her practice has been putting in place social distancing measures, but won't open in time for Monday All routine dental care in England was suspended on 25 March, in order to help reduce the spread of coronavirus.

Only had 2+ months to prepare. However late the guidance, they would have known what to expect.

Again with the negativity. They CAN reopen IF they put processes etc in place. Noone said they HAD to reopen on 8th 🤦‍♂️ Also, many have had long enough to think about how to reopen when the time came.

I am curious as to why some dentists are saying they’ve only had six days to source PPE...where have they been for the past 2 1/2 months? Also not seeing a reduction in fees for patients in spite of zero service.

Well my dentist told me weeks ago that they have plenty of PPE as did others and they were extremely frustrated at not being able to open due to public health England . But I don’t suppose for one mo uitevyoud want to report on that!!

How about reduced/concessionary rates for repairs and dental work (including cosmetic work) incurred during the lockdown!

In Ohio they forced hygienists back to work or they lose unemployment... basically pestilence or famine.

The reporter said it will never be the same again REALLY why are trying to scare people fakenews

Are you going to insist that Barry Gardiner resigns?

People feeling long in the tooth

Our dentist only found out via a BBC report that they could be opening in Monday. My husband has been waiting for a painful tooth to be pulled since the end of March. Still nothing from these hubs. He's in severe pain. It's unacceptable.

I wonder what dentists have been doing all this time in lockdown? Not very much, obviously!

BorisJohnson yet this country goes backwards with more draconian rules Unlawful lockdown no scientific evidence on antisocial distancing or wearing face coverings You lied from day 1 about the severity of the virus

Do I ClapForDentists before or after he rips my tooth out?

I'll help 15 people to earn $5,000 in 72hours, but you will pay me 10% of your profit when you receive it. No Scam! Ask me 'How' WhatsApp... +15072251760

No surprise, why would the Brits start caring about their teeth now?

They'll make someone pay when when they return

How can the PM say he is proud 40,000 deaths? 60,000 excess deaths? Cummings? A debacle and disaster, lie after lie. Disgrace and shame upon the entire Government. They are an insult to those dead and grieving. PROUD? Resign!!! and Cummings!!!
