France’s largest telecoms operator, Orange, is set to make an entry into Nigeria and South Africa.

The Chief Executive Officer, Stephane Richard, who made this known, said the firm would make the move in a few months.

He said, “It could make sense to be in economies such as Nigeria and South Africa. If one considers there are things to do, the time frame I am considering is rather a few months than a few years.”, the Middle East, and Africa where Orange has a presence in 18 countries, is the company’s fastest-growing market.

The region makes a large chunk of its revenues from payment transfers – a key part of the group’s diversification into financial services. Orange said earlier this year it was bringing its operations in the Middle East and Africa into a single entity, paving the way for a potential listing of the operations that could raise cash to invest in overseas expansion.

Stephane also explained that the operator will be looking to enhance partnerships with health companies or institutions.

They should ask Etisalat what happened

Na dem de rush us!

How about glo opening shop in Paris

I hope they come with better plans , and more jobs to Nigerian

I’ve already purchased my orange SIM card in advance. I don’t like rush!

They had better bring better services than the previous service providers we have if not there’s no point please...We are dealing with enough on our table already. Like this tweet, I’ll follow you. Follow back ASAP

They should enter mbok and drop data price for us and also cable networks should enter too like aljazeera, BEIN, Sky etc...this South Africa companies don finish us. We have the market, they should come mbok.

Dusting my CV lord

Wish it was an alternative to DSTV. So much monopoly.

We are waiting....

They are Welcome atleast they will create employment opportunities for our people

Am say bye bye to my MTN

Hope their Real Estate Agent told them our light is rotational 1 day on, 2 days off.

Wow... This will be really great for the nation... A massive break through in the creation of thousands of job across multiple discipline. Plus no more mtn nonsense. Orangé, 1k for 10Gb nio and mad 5G network Oya ogo to le gongo

Ope O

If they can offer better services than the ones we currently have, let them come.

Great development. Come and give them a stiff competition.

After ORANGE is here, at&t and Vodafone should also join o, we need a very competitive platform. Hope DStvNg is getting ready too in the cable business?

When is this coming up?Can't wait

I'll be the 1st customer. 🤪

Welcome already

pls the FG agencies in charge shd give the company every necessary support & encouragement to invest in Nigeria.

This should further help in reducing the cost of data...

Dem want come drag color and design with gtbank. 😂😂😂

Just remember to come with your Generator

🕺🏾

Thank God. This people Don finish my money with data issues

That will be great.orange. There is need for good competition although power is a BIG problem. we also need good competition in the Paytv industry, I don't know what happened to tstv after all the hype

I pray ooo

Who close that door? Please open it jare, am tired of Glo n Mtn. Oooooin

Let them come to Nigeria with good oranges and not sour ones. No pallatives during covid lockdown. They made billions of dollars through calls and data. They are ripping us off without good CSR

Let them come and make data cheap abeg

Abegi, let them come..... Ayam tayad of these misfits

I follow back in less than 3 seconds ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

Come, I'll love to work with the company

They are late

They better maintain there good name and image and stay where they are. Nigeria 🇳🇬 syndrome will rubbish there business reputation

wont make any difference. The NCC wont allow them to give cheaper services. There is a reason why all networks in Nigeria have similar plans with different names. If you go cheaper NCC will sanction u.

They should come abeg Let them come & deliver us from Glo & MTN

I Just hope FG won't use tax and different nonsense fees to chase them away

Ope o

They should just sign wizkid everybody will buy ORANGE 🍊

Data....

If they want to crash the market and win us over quickly, they should make their data cheap and efficient, we Nigerians are not loyal to any network.

Very good. Very good.

Please do

Good

Them go run comot

French*

Hmmn IFB though

They should come this country need competition maybe their data would be cheap

This will be a competition for MTN and likely drive them out of the market unless they do cheap tarrifs to maintain their relevancy.

They should come with an unlimited data

Please don't enter, you will regret it

Abeg, make them quick

They will likely succeed here. We buy data and airtime a lot.

We can’t wait to have you people in our country.

I love orange. welcome boss

They will start by selling orange phones 😂

Tell me the date orange and I will jejely swap my GLO sim with yours

Was about getting rid of this sim the other day. Keeping it a little longer and hope it’s not faux.

Good. Airtel will stop this their noise making.

We are waiting 🔥

Can they compete with China?

Please guys , my view is different. Since Nigeria did not allow single currency that carry french name ,they will come in through business strategy to enslave us. They never have good plans for Nigeria (Blacks).

They welcome let MTN wake up

Employment

They are most welcome

If they won't tell us that our one month data subscription has been exhausted within two days... It's a welcomed development.

Oh really

Does it mean all those Orange phones my Uk people keep packing back from UK like say na naija be dump site, we won't need to roaming round Alaba to unlock it?!🤔

all na news. nothing is happening

Honestly we suppose get over 10 communication companies in Nigeria so that Glo, Mtn, 9mobile and Airtel will work on their tariff plan, and not use straws to drain our data, Glo is really trying but they should allow their coverage get to every parts of the country.

FG WILL SAY THEY SPENT 50billion bringing orange into Nigeria

Dey don't need to plan it, just put something in the FG hand, you'll enter without disturbance. Or tell Nigerian government that you have loan for them, they'll rush it.

orange

That's what I'm talking about, bring it on

If your network is very very good plus affordable data and good speed, you will displace mtn.

MTN and Airtel left the group

Welcome as long as they employ me🤧😊

Hope they’ll stable the telecom market not terrify it.

Welcome on board but must be ready to spend more on quality data delivery and adverts across the length and breadth of the country

1gb for 200 naira and I will denounce others networks. No hard feelings, it's just what it is 😒

Better..it will make the market more competitive based on it's popularity and will create employment for people 🙌

Its a welcome development .....

Please let the orange and mango come cos the shakara from these Mtn, Glo, 9mobile and Airtel is too much, they are doing us the more you see, the less you understand. Data of 2,500 that is meant to last for a whole month, last only for five days. God don catch them

This country will be witch them ooo.pls don't come pls.

opeeeeoo. they don't need to plan.. they should start coming.. we can't wait

Goodnews

Orange data is affordable, the network is stable and fast.

Good. One day, we will have a level playing field in our broadcasting companies too, so that DSTV won’t continue their monopoly.

Variety is the spice of life. you are welcome

Will they offer unlimited WiFi service?

abeg we need u guys 😭😭

Please come. The ones we have here already I don't think they are serious.

Bring it on , foreigners always use our pop to mk money but we never use our pop to ask for good governance.. Ask any investor where they will like to sell their biz any where in Africa , Nigeria will be their first option ask them why , they will tell u its bcos of dia pop

orange as business starts in Nigeria I will love to work for your company,my LinkedIn address is on my Twitter.

The company is welcomed. I just hope and believe it took into consideration the unique challenges of doing business and not only the mkt advantage. If they have done their home work well, it shd be able to take adv of some cruelty of the existing telcos to gain inroads 2 d mkt.

Welcome in advance. I'm buying the sim card immediately they launch

They will be coming late to the feast.

If they come una don fie oo. They want finish us in Cameroon😂😂

They will be forced to operate the nigeria way , limited data with huge pay .

Very good

MTN, GlO, Airtel and 9Mobile will be on the loosing side if Orange will make their Data cheap for subscribers

Let me brush up my skills before they come🚶

Hmmm....if only these heartless leaders will allow.

D should cm abeg, we lack oranges in dis country

Interesting. Strong competition definitely welcome. You get the impression the big players in Nigeria have been taking their customers for granted with poor but yet expensive service.

Dont! I repeat, do not come. They'll suck you dry here.

Hope they have budgeted money for bribe?

Pls 🙏if u are residing in Abuja and u are in the best position to assist me on getting a job pls help me out plssss.... Can do anything aside armed robbery and the likes..07037363318.

Interesting. Who are they buying?

Hope there are bringing cheap data😒

Overdue

Someone will say: after experiencing indirect rule, we (Nigerians) are about to taste policies of assimilation and indigenat.

The should replace this stupid MTN,

Welcome L'ORANGE just give me a year free data though..lol

hopefully the competition forces cheaper tariffs to be implemented. our nigerian telecoms are simply carting away with our money.

If only the ORANGE standard will be carried over to Nigeria 🇳🇬 to safe us from this mess

We welcome healthy competitions.

They are very welcome, time to throw my GLO, MTN, Airtel and Etisalat sim away.

They're welcome. Let them shake things up... They should sha attract me with cheaper data and I will dump my current network hard

This is welcome development. Competition will further penetrate the market.

if they do we hope they brought their standard from abroad to Nigeria.

They should enter first.
