. We had been house shopping for close to a year and we ended up closing on our first home on April 24.
Eventually, we found the house that would become our home. It was a small, three-bedroom, one bath in a North Florida town at the right price. The asking price was $100,000 — but we were able to seal the deal at $95,000. Before our home purchase, we were living in a small apartment that suddenly felt much smaller with the stay-at-home orders. Although it was a perfectly functional apartment, it was a tight squeeze for my husband and me to work side by side with no end in sight.
