Having only attended one flower-arranging workshop pre-lockdown, Dipal Acharya was nevertheless inspired to launch a floristry business while on furlough.

. Emily and I put our heads together and decided to source and use this excess stock from one of Holland’s best market suppliers in a meaningful way. We began to create small posies in our gardens of three or four different types of seasonal stems, just enough to serve as pretty “table flowers”, rather than fussy, sprawling bouquets.

I’ve also learnt how talented and generous friends can be with their time, from the artist Tess Newall creating a logo for us overnight, to the high-flying VC teaching us about how to slowly scale up this most home-grown of businesses. My co-founder Emily and I have shared so many stories about growing up, how we want to raise our girls and countless cups of tea while making our bunches each week, giving our friendship even stronger roots.
