As the NHS opens its first clinic for child addicts, families are counting the cost of Britain’s high-stakes betting problem

In Jack Ritchie’s first term of sixth form, when he was 17, he started to spend his lunch breaks at the bookies down the road from his school in Sheffield, staking his dinner money at the fixed-odds betting terminals. It became a regular thing. No one ever asked for any proof of age.

Gambling sponsorship should be banned on football shirts like the tobacco industry was banned from having their brand on formula one cars.

It's even worse now with loot crates, virtual currencies, pay to win games and such like.

We need a police online task force. ToS does not work.

Those advert on TV are disgraceful. Stop them, and stop on line gambling. Go back to when we shops only, with fines handed out if they allow under age gambling.

What consumer protection?

It's a disgusting blight that I have been on the wrong end of. Needs serious intervention, control and consequences for irresponsible firms that allow people to go under. Setting a limit that cannot be changed when first signing up would alleviate some of the 'loss chasing'
