Monthly assistance to vulnerable groups to be increased, says Finance Minister

He said the rate increase would involve an allocation of RM2.2bil and benefit more than 400,000 people.

The rate for financial assistance for persons with disabilities who were incapable of work would increase from RM250 to RM300, he said. "The rate for financial assistance for older persons, carers of bedridden, disabled persons and chronically ill patients will increase from RM350 to RM500. "The rate for incentive allowance for disabled workers is increased from RM400 to RM450," he said during the tabling of the Budget 2021 in Parliament on Friday .
