Halimi is responsible for finding new talent for the startups her firm invests in; in the past, those startups have included 23andMe, LinkedIn, and Fitbit.

Halimi said, "It's important to learn how these experiences factored into the candidate proactively shaping their subsequent career choices." Dane Holmes, the CEO of HR technology startup Eskalera and the former HR chief for Goldman Sachs, articulated his own career story coherently in awith Business Insider: "I really liked building things." Instead of scouting out the next step on that proverbial ladder, Holmes said, he looked for a novel challenge.
