The Nestle logo is pictured on the company headquarters building in Vevey, Switzerland February 18, 2016. — Reuters picZURICH, April 30 — Nestle has bought the core brands of US vitamin and supplements maker The Bountiful Company for US$5.75 billion , the Swiss food giant said today as it expands further into the health nutrition sector.
The “high-growth” brands will help create “a global leader in vitamins, minerals and nutritional supplements”, Nestle said in announcing the deal with Bountiful’s owner KKR. Last year, the world’s largest food and beverage company acquired the Zenpep drug for digestive problems, and took majority control of US firm Vital Proteins.
