Employers are ramping up advertising for low-skilled staff in another sign the country’s job market is growing in strong. jobs covid19 pandemic

The largest increase was in the ACT, up by 7.4 per cent. Wages in other sectors were only getting back to their pre-COVID growth rates while public sector workers faced “subdued” growth.

Total jobs on company payrolls climbed by 0.7 per cent in the fortnight to the end of November in NSW while they lifted by 1.7 per cent in Victoria over the same period. Over the past 12 months, payrolls are up by 0.7 per cent in NSW and by 3.1 per cent in Victoria.

Wage growth is required urgently

Lack of availability of those who can afford to work a slave wage (ie Pacific island workers, overseas students) is more like it
