Anthony Albanese has promised to govern like former Labor prime minister Bob Hawke if he is successful at the May election.Mr Albanese will tell a business conference on Wednesday that after nearly a decade of division and policy inertia under the coalition, he wants to rediscover the spirit of consensus shown by Mr Hawke and his successor Paul Keating.

"The result was three decades of continuous economic growth," Mr Albanese will tell the Australian Financial Review business summit. But the Labor leader will also draw on a line often used by former Liberal prime minister John Howard, that in the race for economic reform, you never reach the finish line.

The party's Powering Australia plan is a blueprint for embracing the rise of cheap, renewable energy to cut power bills and lift productivity, while legislating for net zero emissions by 2050.

Keating is a joke anyway

19% interest rates …….. just great

😂

All this is saying is that the Labor Left will wholly submit to the Labor Right faction. Let's party.

Maybe for a place. LOL

No labor. We are in the war time against dictatorship and labor is a friend with one.

And Bob Hawke's cabinet was the best of Aus govs.

Garbage. The leftards run Labor. If Labor wins 50k plus fake illegal refos will turn up looking for welfare handouts and Labor will spend billions of your tax dollars giving them free medical houses education while Aussies are thrown out and die on the streets in poverty.
