A Canadian company is recalling certain oyster products after a number of people have reported food-borne illnesses.

Stellar Bay Shellfish is recalling certain oysters from the marketplace due to possible norovirus contamination, said the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

Included in the recall are the brand’s Kusshi oyster, Kusshi large oyster and the Stellar Bay Gold. The products cannot be sold or consumed, said the regulatory agency, and should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase. If ingested, the norovirus illness will present symptoms of gastroenteritis within 24 to 28 hours. The main symptoms are diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, and stomach cramps.over the weekend about dozens of people who had fallen sick from eating raw British Columbia oysters.
