The family of a man who was killed in a hit-and-run by a disqualified driver have welcomed plans to speed up the transmission of the names of disqualified drivers to the Gardaí. Under the current system, the Courts Service has to print out the names of disqualified drivers and post them to a company which then manually enters the details in the state’s driver database.
