Accusations surfaced on Twitter claiming that the company’s founder and chairman, Boris Jordan, along with Andrei Blokh, a key shareholder, had questionable links to Russian companies and oligarchs.
“Boris Jordan is an American citizen, born and raised on Long Island, New York. He is not, and has never been, a citizen of any other country,” Curaleaf said in a statement. “Jordan has spent several years working in Europe and Russia and currently has several businesses in the U.S. , Europe and Russia.”
Jordan also responded on Twitter. “Curaleaf is an American success story founded by Me! Pls stop spreading misinformation, I was born in the US and live and work in the US! Our shareholder Andrei Blokh is also a US citizen,” he posted. In its statement, Curaleaf said that Blokh is not active in the company.
Founded in 2010, Curaleaf operates across 23 U.S. states, with 26 cultivation sites, 128 dispensaries and more than 5,600 employees. The company also has a large European presence, including a supply and distribution network.Subscribe toShare this Story:
