The Coblentz Chocolate Company of Walnut Creek, Ohio, recalled more than a dozen products that were made with JIF peanut butter and may be contaminated with salmonella, the company said in an announcement posted on theThe chocolate recall is “a direct result” of the JIF peanut butter recall announced May 20, Coblentz said.
JIF recalled 49 sizes and types of peanut butter because a salmonella outbreak linked to JIF products resulted in 14 illnesses and two hospitalizations across 12 states, according to theCoblentz said no illnesses have been reported linked to its chocolate products but the products “have the potential to be contaminated withThe Coblentz products being recalled were sold between Nov. 12, 2021, and May 21, 2022, have packages marked with lot numbers 1315-2140.
Products included in the recall are Peanut Butter Spread, Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup, Graham Peanut Butter Sandwich, Ritz Peanut Butter Sandwich, Oversized Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup, Fudge Sampler, Peanut Butter Fudge, Buckeye Fudge, Oversized Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup, Oversized Peanut Butter Pretzel Cluster, Peanut Butter Truffle, Chocolate Peanut Butter Caramel Corn, and Select Gift Boxes: 4 oz. Deluxe Assortment, 8 oz. Deluxe Assortment, 16 oz. Deluxe Assortment, 32 oz.
